What is North East Doctor-on-Call?
This is an innovative co-operative established by most Family Doctors in the
North East Region to ensure modern and efficient OUT-OF-HOURS service for THEIR
patients.
From September 18th, 2000. The new service will handle OUT-OF-HOURS needs
between the hours of 6.00 pm and 8.00 am Monday-Friday and provide 24 hour
service over weekends and Bank Holidays.
This means that for 118 OUT-OF-HOURS in each week, experienced local family
doctors will be on call to provide a prompt and efficient OUT-OF-HOURS service
for call from any part of the North East Region.
The service is in ADDITION to the usual services provided during NORMAL
WORKING HOURS by your own doctor from your local surgery
One phone call - to 1850 777 911 - puts you in contact with an
experienced local family doctor. No longer will it be necessary for you to make
a number of calls to contact a doctor on duty at night, over weekends or on Bank
Holidays.
